Valerie Chee, age 47, passed away in Ogden, Utah on August 18, 2022.

She was born July 11, 1975 on the Navajo Nation in Ft. Defiance, Arizona to Matilda Mae Gatewood and

Bobby Chee, Sr and moved to Utah in the early 1990’s and lived in Salt Lake City for the rest of her life.

Valerie was a loving, caring and strong individual. She lived her life as she pleased and had many adventures. She was a daughter, sister, auntie and most, a friend to all those that crossed her path.

She was a writer, she loved writing poems. This piece is written by her “If I could scatter the world with the words in my thoughts, you would walk on poetry daily as the pencil would be my eyes, as my thoughts for through lines.” …Val

Survived by her son: Isiah A. Chee; Mother: Matilda Gatewood; Brother: Bobby Chee, Jr.; Sister: Sharon Chee; Brother: Lambert Chee.

Preceded in death by her Father: Bobby Chee, Sr.; Cousin: Delbert Billie; Friend: Michael Singleton.

Celebration of Life will be held in West Valley City, Utah on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at 2 PM.
