In Loving Memory of Nora Karma Purcell

Nora Karma Purcell, was born on March 27, 1954, in Mulifanua, Western Samoa, peacefully passed away June 11 , 2024 at the age of 70, surrounded by her loving family, to return to her Heavenly home. She is survived by her two devoted sons and their families, who were the center of her world.

Nora was the beloved daughter of Toleafoa Loe Te’o and Leutu Maumasi. At the age of 17 Nora came to the United States with her father, in the year 1971. In 1972, Nora graduated from Leuzinger High School in Lawndale, CA. She shared a lifetime of love and companionship with her husband, William ‘Vili’ Purcell. Together, they built a beautiful family and a lifetime of cherished memories.

Nora worked for numerous companies but ultimately enjoyed working for Delta Airlines, the #1 Airline in the world. She began her career in 1998 and retired in 2020 due to the Covid pandemic and health complications.

Nora’s legacy lives on through her two sons and their families. David Malcom Te’o, his wife Amanda Te’o, and their children Savanah, Aliyah, Olivia, Kali, James, and Andrew. William Edwin Purcell, his wife Melissa Purcell, and their children Edwin and Thomas.

Nora’s greatest joy in life came from being a firm mother, loving grandmother, favorite cousin & aunt, devoted sister, and honest friend, and beyond. Her family meant everything to her.

Throughout her life, Nora found solace and joy in simple pleasures like reading books, watching movies, and listening to music, particularly artists like Anne Murray and Engelbert Humperdinck. Her warm heart and honest spirit touched the lives of all who knew her, and her love for her family was unwavering and unconditional.

Family services will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 11-1230 with a Bishop’s service from 1-2 PM at the Mapusaga LDS Chapel, 4322 So. 5400 W., West Valley City, 84120.
