The family of Maria Lourdes Trujillo is saddened to announce her peaceful passing surrounded by her family on June 29, 2023 at the young age of 99.
Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, will forever be in our hearts. She has taught us patience, love, honor, respect, and what a family is.
She was born to Donacina “Chanita” Aragon Vigil in Ranchos de Taos. She had seven siblings: Feles, Clorinda, Dora, Porfilia, Jake, Cornelio and Luciano along with nephews Pablo and Tito Chacon.
She loved and raised her six children, Evelyn, Lorry, Phyllis (Chuck), Robert, Shirley (Larry), Steve (Lori), 12 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
From a young age, Maria worked hard at ranches in Taos, the Anaconda mine, cleaning schools and homes, and caring for children. She enjoyed Spanish music, loved to dance, and enjoyed good times with her friends and family.
She raised and loved her grandchildren, Robert, Lorry (Shauna), Angelique, Melissa (Kyle), Chad, Mario (Marideth), Brandon, Joseph, Mitch (Monicah), Alisha (Jose), Quinton, and Alek (Jess).
She leaves behind her love Miguel, sons Robert and Steve, daughters Evelyn, Phyllis, and Shirley, 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by mother, Donacina “Chanita” Aragon Vigil, siblings Feles, Clorinda, Dora, Cornelio, and Jake, son Lorry, and grandsons Chad and Quinton.
At her wishes, a private service (rosary & mass) was held Friday, July 7, 2023 at Saint Marguerite Catholic Church followed by graveside services at Tooele City Cemetery.
