Linda Louise Griffis

04/07/1952 – 09/22/2023

Linda was born to Billie Rae Overstreet and John Vallace at the Fort Lewis military base in Washington. Once her father left the military the family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where John was from.

Linda was a student at Kearns High School. She met Jerry Eugene Griffis at the age of 21, shortly after they tied the knot in Elko, Nevada on February 16, 1976. Linda and Jerry were happily married for 47 years and raised six children together. They also took care of various farm animals, bred St. Bernards, tended to multiple fruit trees and gardens, and Linda had a special love for her cats. Linda worked as a sales representative for Avon and became one of their top performers. She received numerous awards and recognition, even being featured in the newspaper multiple times. She was a world-class hostess who welcomed everyone into their home. She enjoyed spending time with her children, spoiling her grandchildren every chance she got, traveling, winning in Wendover, and boating. Linda took pride in maintaining a beautiful home and was known for making the best Thanksgiving gravy.

She is survived by her husband Jerry. Her children, Wendy (Todd), Jerry (Michelle), Scott (Amy), Monica (Jim), Marty (Tina), and Brandon (Olivia). Her 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Her siblings, Sandy (Bill), Vickie (Kevin), Debbie (Cleade), and David (Lori). Linda has so much family that loves and misses her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents Billie and John. And her grandparents John and Violet. And numerous Aunts and Uncles.

The Family would like to thank Janice and Wendy at Harmony Home Health for helping to take care of Linda. Linda had such an amazing, strong, and caring soul. Always gracious, generous, and kind.  Every animal and person who knew her loved her. She will be thought of continuously, loved forever, and remembered daily. We love you, Mom and Grandma.
