                “Kimmy”

Our sweet wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend left us unexpectedly on Sunday December 19th. Although our hearts are broken, we will be forever blessed and better people because she was part of our lives.

Kimmy was born on June 1, 1982 in Salt Lake City Utah. The second child of Kim Mitchell and Karleen Varoz Mitchell. She grew up in West Jordan and graduated from West Jordan High School in 2001. From a young age, Kimmy enjoyed the outdoors. She liked spending time at her family cabin, riding four wheelers, and more recently, she and Jeff enjoyed spending time with their kids adventuring in their side by side. Kimmy was a great example of selfless service and sharing with others. Whenever someone was in need, she was the first to respond without hesitation. Co-workers, neighbors, family and friends could count on good meals, words of encouragement, a listening ear or a helping hand. Many people were the recipients of her generosity and if you were lucky, an amazing recipe. She was a great cook and she enjoyed preparing meals for family get togethers. Her family always looked forward to her “Taco Tuesdays”.

20 years ago, Kimmy met her best friend and husband Jeff while they were both working for the Jerry Seiner dealership in Salt Lake. They were married on October 1st 2004 and they made their home in West Valley. Together they were blessed with 2 incredible kids, Makenzee Denise and Brody Roland. Kimmy was an amazing mom. Her kids, were the center of her universe. She was their biggest cheerleader. Whether attending Kenzee’s poetry readings at Kearns High School or Brody’s freshman football games, it was certain you could find her cheering the loudest.

For the last 15 years, Kimmy was employed by the Department of Environmental Quality for the State of Utah and recently she earned her Real Estate License and worked part time with her husband selling homes. She had a great work ethic and she was admired by co-workers, many of whom became close friends.

Kimmy will always be remembered for her creativity, her selfless acts of kindness, her yummy food, her love of The Golden Girls, and everything Wonder Woman. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. We are so grateful to have known such an amazing woman. She will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will also be deeply missed by her fur baby, Sully. Jeff and his family wish to express their gratitude to all who have reached out, visited, and shared loving memories.

Kimmy is survived by her loving husband, Jeff. Her children, Kenzee (17) and Brody (14). Her parents, Kim and Karleen Mitchell. Her siblings, Elisha (Simon) Chan and Greg (Karame) Mitchell. Jeff’s parents, Marty and Cindy Wilcox, Jeff’s siblings, Jennifer (Kirk) Braithwaite Starlene Spencer, Craig (Kourtney) Wilcox, Jacob Wilcox, Zach (Christine) Wilcox, Kara (Mike) Drayzen. Along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Belarmino and Mary Varoz and Norman and Amy Mitchell. Her aunts, Denise Jones and Letha Mitchell.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday December 29th  from 6pm to 7:30pm followed by a rosary from 7:30pm to 8pm at City View Mortuary 1001 East 11th Ave, Salt Lake City, UT 84103. Funeral services will be conducted on December 30th  from 10:30am to 11:30am also at City View Mortuary. Interment immediately following funeral services at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery 275 U St. Salt Lake City, UT 84103.

I will miss her terribly. She was always the bright spot in my day. I would receive a message asking me “what fun and exciting things I was doing?!” It never mattered what or how I answered she would always respond and be interested to know more. I loved that about her. It’s so funny how an online business can bring so many unexpected people together. I am so grateful it brought Kimmy into my life. I will miss her. Love you Kimmy ?

I met Kimmy at work, started about 4 weeks after her. She became my best friend! Kimmy was always living her best life; at work, at home, as a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend. I will miss her so much as will everyone who knew her. God needed her home, no one else would do. I need to keep telling myself this so I can deal with this huge hole in my heart. Thank you for being you,
