John Brent Jacobson

John Brent Jacobson, age 54, passed away on March 29, 2024 in Grantsville,

Utah Brent was born on June 15, 1969 at Hill Air Force Base Hospital and was adopted 3 days later by Sylvan and Connie Jacobson. Brent was a joy to his parents, especially with his love of Baseball. He played with all stars and was on teams that went to tournaments including regional championships, all with his parents screaming from the sidelines.

He graduated from Tooele High School and married Rita Christen on Feb. 14, 1990. They were proud parents of Shawn and Erin. Brent loved his children more than life and spent a lot of time fishing with his son and daughter loving every minute of that experience. Brent and Rita later divorced. Brent was a good worker doing back kitchen for restaurants and stocking shelves at safeway at night. However, his greatest love was getting his CDL license to haul dirt and gravel, and then cement mixers, to hauling cattle, which was his greatest joy. He got to see all the western states and some eastern. 

He had a passionate love for his Granddaughters Ellie and Brixlee and made it a point to visit as often as possible. Brent is survived by his parents Sylvan Jacobson, Connie and Anthony Banks, His Son Shawn and Larissa Jacobson His granddaughter Brixlee, His daughter Erin Jacobson and Kody Smith and granddaughter Ellie. Brent had 2 brothers, Joel and Jerry (Michelle) and a sister Julie Bachler (Tom) with nieces Trinity, Kyndall and Brooklyn and a nephew JR. 

Brent was preceded in death by his grandparents Wayne and Jean Hill, and Orlan and Carol Jacobson.

A Celebration of Life for close family and friends of Brent will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 4:30 at the LDS Ward, 115 E. Cherry Street, Grantsville, Utah.

    Very sorry to hear that 12 concrete trucks with Brett. He was always fun to be around.

    Brent will always be a valued member of our class with many of us remembering him as a bright spot in our day with many laughs and smiles. He will be missed. Our heartfelt condolences to his family. Forever and forever in Tooele.

    I knew Brent (“Jake”) in high school. He was such a great guy. One of the smartest and funniest people I knew, I remember he always called me by my last name. “Hey Barnett, how’s it going?” He always had an air of coolness about him, and was well-liked by everyone. Rest easy, Jake.
