In Loving Memory of Jeanette Warr Wimmer

March 9, 1941 – July 19, 2023

On July 19, 2023 the world bid farewell to a cherished soul, Jeanette Warr Wimmer, beloved wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt and friend. Born on March 9, 1941, in Murray, Utah, Jeanette was the beloved daughter of Joseph and Maxine Bendixsen Warr. She grew up in Granger, Utah, and was a proud member of the inaugural graduating class of Granger High School in 1959.

Guided by her compassionate and nurturing nature, Jeanette pursued a career in nursing after high school and became a licensed practical nurse. It was during her time at LDS Hospital that serendipity intervened, as she worked alongside Anita Wimmer who would set the course of her life by introducing her to her eternal companion Elwood Walter Wimmer.  On June 24, 1966 they were solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple, embarking on a journey of love and companionship that spanned over 50 years.

Together, Jeanette and Walt embraced the joys and responsibilities of parenthood, welcoming six children into their loving home. Jeanette selflessly chose to leave her nursing career to become a devoted full-time homemaker and mother.  As the children grew Jeanette returned to her nursing career at Pioneer Valley Hospital until retiring to pursue her true passion in life and favorite title of Grandma.  She spent her days cooking, playing games, and anything else the grandkids desired.  The highlight of her life was being Grandma to her eleven grandchildren and she cherished every moment spent with them.  Jeanette’s love for her grandchildren knew no bounds, and the memories they created together will forever be treasured.

Beyond her devotion to family, Jeanette enjoyed traveling, especially with her sister Sharon. She loved cheering on her favorite sports teams, the San Francisco 49ers and the Utah Jazz, and was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

Jeanette is survived by her loving husband, who stood by her side through life’s joys and challenges. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her children: Mark (Lydia) Wimmer, Steffanie Wimmer, Paul (Shannon) Wimmer, Carl (Sherry) Wimmer, and Ryan Wimmer. Her brothers, Gary and Parley Warr hold cherished memories of their time together.  Jeanette’s eleven adored grandchildren will forever carry her love in their hearts: Chelsie Wimmer Daw (Christopher), Aspen Wimmer, Sheridan Wimmer, Jade Wimmer, Heston Wimmer, Sage Wimmer, Bronson Wimmer, Reagan Wimmer, Porter Wimmer, Taylor Wimmer.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her son, Eric Wimmer, her grandson, Brent Wimmer, sister Sharon James and her parents who welcomed her with open arms.

A viewing will be held in Jeanette’s honor on July 27, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park, Sunrise Chapel, followed by graveside services.

As we say farewell to our beloved wife and mother, we find solace in knowing that her legacy of love and kindness will forever shine bright in the lives of those she touched. May her soul find eternal peace, surrounded by the love of her cherished ones in the heavens above.
