Deanna Joy Housley

May 27, 1939 – October 7, 2022

Deanna Joy Housley, mom, sister, and Nama returned home to her Heavenly Father October 7, 2022 at the age of 83. She was born in Salt Lake City, UT to Ruben Larsen Arveseth and Mary Brock Young Arveseth on May 27, 1939.

“Dea”, as many knew her, was full of grit, fragile looking but hard as a coffin nail type woman. She had a dark and hilarious sense of humor; she loved to laugh and hear others laugh. She wasn’t one to let just anybody “in” and she wasn’t afraid to kick you out for a time after you were in. She was guarded, but brave. She spent much of her adult life afraid, but pressed on anyway, she was stubborn, in fact too stubborn most times, combative, talented, hardworking, adventurous, private, giving and determined. She had a take me as I am or leave me be attitude.

She loved children, animals and the outdoors. In conversation she often reminisced of times traveling and exploring in the mountains. She liked to take the long way and stop to see it all along the way. She was part of shooting clubs for much of her life and won many awards during that time.

She worked well into her 70’s because she liked work and felt like it kept her wits about her. She worked many years for AMSCO Windows. After retirement she worked as a security guard with Securitas where they adored her. She taught her family to work for what they have, because nothing is given to you.

Deanna is survived by her children, Dean George (KelliDee), Lauri Schwab, and Jere George. Her siblings, James Arveseth (Renae), Mary Ongley, and Patricia Middaugh. Her six grandchildren, Dani, Dustin, Jessica, Justin, Luke, Jere Ray., along with her 15 great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Harold Housley, father, mother, son-in-law Charles Schwab, and brothers, Brent L., Bruce and Jack C. Arveseth.

She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. We know she has finally found rest where she couldn’t on this earth.
