Corey Trease Patrick

Corey Trease Patrick

Corey Trease Patrick was born on September 5, 1986, to Lela Shipley and Kenneth Patrick and passed away in Salt Lake City on June 17, 2022.

Corey was the most kind, outgoing and friendly person to anyone lucky enough to meet him. He was a fantastic student, who enjoyed reading and tinkering; he regularly took things apart just to see how they worked. He was an accomplished Eagle Scout. Though his teachers professed his docile nature at school, he was a bit of a “wild child” at home. No matter what was going on in his own life, Corey would always be there for others when they needed him. He was an immensely caring and loving father to his daughter Indika and her sister Reggie. His family loves him dearly.

Corey is survived by his parents, his daughter Indika, siblings Tyler (Samantha), Brandi (Marcus), Sean (Tayler), Kyle (Diedre), Kenny, his grandmother Phyllis and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Please join us to celebrate Corey’s life on Friday, June 24th from 2-5pm at the church located at 8950 S 400 E, Sandy, UT 84070.

    Ken, Lela, and Family,
I have so many fond memories of Corey, and the rest of the Patrick Family, involving the Scouting trips we took , and the many times we just spent time together. We are so sorry for the loss to your family.

Lela, Ken and family, I am so sorry to hear this news. I remember Corey as such a bright light. My kids affirm that Corey was their favorite babysitter. I love your family and am so sorry for this loss.

What a party in a person! Corey had the heart of gold and would give you the shirt of his back if you needed it. As we have grown up and grown apart. We have sill had some amazing moments when we did see each other.

My favorite thing each summer was taking my daughter to concerts. I was always fun to run into Corey for some good laughs and sharing how simple it was when we were kids with my daughter.

You may have lived in a pair of shoes that my dad previously had but you lived life to the fullest and set an example for others good or bad.

You are loved, you will be missed and thank you for all the awesome laughs.

Corey was my best friend since we were in high school together. I watched him grow up thru all his wild child phase but when he became a father I watched him change not only as a person but his heart became filled with more love for the world and his baby. He was so proud to be a dad and everything he did in life there after was strive to be a better father. Thru all of this struggles he would face he would always make it out on top. It makes me so sad that he won’t be here to see my children but I hope he’s watching and knows me and my family love him dearly. The day he stopped messaging me was the worst day of my life. The last thing he asked me was to play Pokemon go with him. I’ll play it forever and think of him.
