Cirilo (Jake) Trujillo

In Loving Memory of Cirilo (Jake) Trujillo.

Jake Trujillo passed away peacefully at home with his family February 13, 2022 in Stansbury Park, Utah at the age of 94. He was born in Youngsville, New Mexico on December 25th, 1927.

He learned to work hard from a young age. As a young boy he helped on his parent’s farm until they moved to Vernal. He attended school in Vernal and later moved to Clearfield, Utah where he worked at the Navy Base. At 18 he went into the Army and served during World War II. He served for 40 years as a civilian at Hill Airforce Base and then retired.

He married the love of his life, Virginia Scott on November 7, 1951 and was sealed for all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on June 27, 1957. They had 3 children, Steve, Mark and Sheila. They resided in Layton for 40 years where they loved the company of family and friends.  You would often find Jake under his tree where all the neighbors would gather and visit. The many friends they made in Layton were like family and still visited with him until the time of his death. He served in various positions in his church, his longest being the Executive Secretary to 3 bishops.

After he retired, they moved back to Vernal, Utah for 15 years. While there he loved to garden, camp on the mountain and spent quality time with family and friends.

In 2006 Jake and Virginia moved back to Utah and resided in Stansbury Park with their daughter Sheila until the time of his death. Sheila loved having her parents with her to watch over them and help them with anything they needed.

Jake had the best smile and heart. He was a family man, he would do anything for his children. He was a loving grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather.

Jake is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Amelia Trujillo, sisters, Maybel Younce, Kimberly Hood, brothers, Floyd Trujillo, Manuel Trujillo, Don Trujillo, Oliver Trujillo and grandchildren, Stephanie Trujillo and Steven Trujillo.

He is survived by his beloved wife Virginia, sons, Steve Trujillo (ReNae), Mark Trujillo (Stephanie), daughter, Sheila Woodard (Mike), grandchildren, Britagne Miller (Jake), Camron Sudbury, Kayla Sudbury (James), Dallin Woodard, McKell Woodard, Talia Trujillo, Enzo Trujillo, Bailey Trujillo, Kayden Trujillo, 10 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 19 at 2 PM in the LDS Chapel, 2500 E 4000 S, in Vernal, UT. Viewing from 1-1:50 PM. Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park with Military Honors. After burial services, luncheon will be served back at the LDS chapel.
