Charlee Barton

1979 – 2023

Charlee Maria Rios Barton was born to Doris Jones and Carlos Rios on February 27, 1979.  She grew up in Salt Lake City and Midvale.  She was the youngest of 8 children.

In high school she was loud and opinionated.  She definitely stood out and if you met her at all you’d never forget her.

She was a determined and strong individual.  She was dynamic and fun loving.  Charlee had strong relationships with her sisters and friends who where like sisters.  She was a fun loving Aunt and was always trying to help those around her enjoy their lives.  She loved getting together with others and enjoying company. A great conversation and laughs were always to be had when she was around.

After graduating high school she went to some college and did some substitute teaching for a while.  She met and married the love of her life, Duane Barton.  They married and moved to Idaho and started having children not long after.  She said she knew the Lord’s plan was for her to have as many children as she could.  She was determined to be a stay at home mom and always available to her children as well as giving them everything she felt she didn’t have as a child.  She felt blessed to be able to have the traditional parental roles she believed in.

She had the gift of faith and held deep beliefs about Jesus Christ and His gospel.  She wanted to teach her children this as well so they knew what she felt they should.

Charlee was a good friend and loved giving to others.  She would help friends any time they needed anything or help in any way.  She helped friends with Christmases when they didn’t have the means that year and wouldn’t take no for an answer.

Her main focus was always her children and husband.  She loved camping with them in the mountains and spending time with them any chance she got.

She was strong willed, determined, extremely loyal, loving and had a great sense of humor. She had a strong sense of who she was and what she felt was right or wrong.  She was an influence on all around her.

Charlee Maria Rios Barton passed away in her sleep on July 3, 2023.  She was able to be with all of her children in the days before she passed. She always made events big and it fit her personality and love for those around her.

She is proceeded in death by her mother and one brother.  She leaves behind her husband, Duane and 6 children; Samuel, Nicholas, Katie, Matthew, William and Isaac, as well as 6 siblings and many nephews and nieces.  She will be sorely missed.
