Tove G. Roberts, 87, passed away on March 14, 2025, in Mesa, Arizona, during a visit to her daughter. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Gordon, who passed away on October 11, 2024. She was born May 19, 1937, in Randers, Denmark to Edith Klitgaard and Harry R Guglielmetti. She has one sister, Britta Evensen (Yngvar), and two brothers, Bjarno (Michelle) and Kjeld (Rachel). Her family joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints while living in Denmark and immigrated to the U.S., arriving in New York on her birthday in 1948. She was 17 when she married Gordon C. Roberts on Sept 24, 1954. We all agreed he robbed the cradle, for which we are eternally thankful. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on Nov 20, 1959. Together they have five children: Lila Duffin (Randy), Gail Westerlund (John), Jeff (Dixie), Lori Simonich (Jim) and Boyd (Melissa). She has 39 grand, great-grand, and great-great grandchildren.
Tove could be counted on to be straightforward and honest. She was cheerful and positive, and found tremendous joy in her family, her faith, the gospel, and love of the Savior. She was quick to offer help and did so without expecting anything in return. Her eternal optimism shaped those around her and made life more enjoyable. She was always ready to laugh, mostly at herself. One of her greatest attributes was her ability to quickly forgive.
She and Gordon served three missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in the Philippines, the Nauvoo Restoration, and Humanitarian Aid in Tooele, Utah.
We will be forever grateful for the loving example both she and Gordon set for their family, friends, and the community.
A graveside service will be held at the Stansbury Park Cemetery on Friday, April 11 at 1:00 PM, weather permitting.
