Sherrie Ivie, age 69, of Grantsville, Utah, passed away unexpectedly on August 27, 2024. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She was born June 24,1955 to Viona Murphy and Archie Bruce Gailey in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the youngest daughter of 3 girls.
Sherrie was the devoted wife of Steven Ivie, with whom she shared 48 cherished years of marriage. Together, they built a family filled with love and laughter. Sherrie was the proud mother of five children: Heather, Stacey, Brian, Adam, and Megan. Later became “mother” to 2 of her great nieces, Machelle and Sarah. Her children were her pride and joy, and she found great fulfillment in watching them grow into the wonderful individuals they are today.
She was also a loving grandmother to twelve grandchildren, each of whom brought immense happiness to her life. In the past year, Sherrie had the joy of becoming a great-grandmother, a role she embraced with the same warmth and care that defined her as a mother and grandmother.
Sherrie’s life was marked by her kindness, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her family and love of animals. She had a gift for making others feel special, and her home was always a welcoming place for friends and family alike. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew her best and loved her most.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 11 AM in the Clark 2nd Ward, 81 N Church St. A viewing will be held on Wednesday. September 4, 2024, 6-8 PM, Thursday September 5 9:30-10:30 AM Both at the Church, where all who knew her are invited to honor her memory. Burial will follow in the Grantsville City Cemetery.
Sherrie Ivie leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and grace. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Steven Ivie. Her 5 children, Heather Kipp (Michael), Stacey Newman (Charles), Brian Ivie (Candice), Adam Ivie (Kerri), Megan Baker (Jeffrey). Her 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Her sister Ranae Watsabaugh (JB).
She is preceded in death by both her parents, her older sister, Joyce Dooley.

I am so sorry for the family’s loss. I’m sure each and everyone of us knew a different side of Sherrie. She could be funny, show leadership skills, a sense of humor and adventure and other attributes that will long be remembered.
We wish peace and acceptance for each of the family members. You are all appreciated and remembered with great affection by several generations of family. Sherrie did want the best for each of you, I know we all want peace for her now.
I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Sherrie when she worked at Hillsdale Elementary. She was a great lady and friend.
