Richard J. Medina

Richard J. Medina 85 of Tooele, Utah passed away on Sunday, May 19,2024.

Richard was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and friend to many of the people whose lives he touched daily.

Richard was born January 12,1939 in Taos, New Mexico, to his parents Guillermo and Gertrudes Medina.  He lost his father when he was still a small child, and he and his seven siblings were raised by their mother, Gertrudes.  He had three sister’s Maria, Ida, and Claudina and three brothers Nabor, Roy and Willie who all preceded him in death.  His brother Gene was his constant companion and best friend to the end.

Richard married Jane Romero on Aug 12,1967, and they were happy together until her passing on February 13, 2018.  Together they raised four children Michael (Kathy) Medina of Tooele, Utah, Stephanie (Scott) Fudge of Mount Dora, Florida, Steven Medina of Tooele, Utah, and Richard Medina, Jr. of Buckeye, Arizona.

Richard loved babies and was blessed with 12 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren with another one on the way, and one Great Great Grandchild.

Richard was a devoted family man who took great pleasure in the simple things in life and shared them with his family and friends.  He was also talented in many ways and was always willing to lend a helping hand and a kind word.

He always stayed busy and “retired” several times before finally staying home to care for the love of his life, Jane.  He worked at Tooele Army Depot, St. Marguerites Church and School, Martec, and served in the Army Reserves. Richard was a considerate person who believed in God.  He was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Marguerites Parish.

A special thank you goes out to his sons, Michael and Steven, for their sacrifices, and all they have done to care for him for the last several years.

A funeral service will be held at St. Marguerites on Friday, June 14, 2024, at 11:00 am followed by a lunch at the church.
