Hilda Patterson

Hilda Thacker (Peacock) Patterson, passed away peacefully at her home, on November 30, 2024. She was 92 years old.
Born May 15, 1932, to Ralph A, and Ethel J. Thacker, she was the fifth in a family of seven children. She grew up in Daniel, Utah and attended Wasatch High School in Heber City, Utah. She met Bob Jimmy Patterson her senior year at Wasatch High and they dated for a year prior to being married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on May 31, 1950. She had reached one of her life goals, to marry a returned LDS missionary.
They raised seven children together for twenty-one years, until Jim was taken from the family. For the next twenty three years she was chief cook, bottle washer and main bread-winner for them.
In 1994 she married Rolland D. Peacock, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She met him while working at the hospital in Heber City. Together they served three LDS missions. The first was in St. George, Utah, the second was in Atlanta Georgia and the third in Oakland California.
Hilda was privileged to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had a very strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She had many callings in the ward and taught her children and others by example. Hilda loved to serve, sew, sing and everything in between. She was a member of the Choralettes singing group for many years. She enjoyed reading, jogging, cooking, baking and loved growing a garden every year.
She is survived by her brother J Reed Thacker,(Kathleen) her five children, Robert (Marie), Joan (Chris), Kim, David, John (Danette). Eleven grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren. Preceded in death by the love of her life, Bob Jimmy Patterson (husband) her second husband, Rolland D. Peacock, five siblings her two daughters, Diane Beacham (Rand) and Julie Marie Summers (Loyal)
A viewing will be held Sunday, December 8, 2024 from 6:00p- 7:30p and Monday December 9, 2024 from 9:00a-10:30a at Heber 3rd/4th Ward chapel located at 240 East 400 South, Heber City UT 84032. Funeral services will follow at 11:00a at the Heber 3rd/4th Ward chapel at 240 East 400 South, Heber City, UT. 84032.
