Davone Huggins

Davone Huggins

Davone Carlisle Huggins of West Jordan, Age 23, passed away on 7/18/2024. Born October of 2000, in Salt Lake City, to his mother and father, Sara Davis and Ben Huggins. Davone graduated from Brighton High School in 2019. Davone pursued his passions and focused on any career that would challenge him and help him grow. His way with people made him a respected and appreciated peer and leader. His desire to learn, and skill, pushed him towards new adventures and experiences, both of which he appreciated more with friends and family. What he had to give to this world came to an end far too soon.

Davone was called “D”, by many who knew him. His network of family, friends, and pets, as well as any that he met along the way, loved him. His connection with animals showed his kind spirit, and his unspoken bond to nature and the beauty that surrounds us all.

He will be missed by many, including his Grandparents. This extended beyond his maternal and paternal Grandparents, including one of the most loving families he could have known. Agnes Huggins, Renee and Dan Davis, and Marsha and Rick Lancaster, will miss D greatly. They helped to support his curiosity, provided a wide range of knowledge and experience, as all grandparents tend to do. They gave him direction and support when he was trying to figure out who he was, and who he wanted to be. Davone also had many Aunts and Uncles, expanding beyond his maternal relationship with Adam Davis. He was lucky enough to have so many more in his life to be there for him when he asked for help and love him when he made a mistake. Anyone willing to let Davone into their life, was honored and humbled by his unconditional love in return. Davone was also loved by so many cousins, all learning with him as they grew up together. Finding each other’s place in the family and in their way in life. In addition to his family, Davone made friends wherever he would go. They helped him through tough times, when he needed someone beyond his family. At times, they were also present while he made bad decisions. Throughout it all, they received the same unconditional love that he gave to any that needed it.

Davone has had a true network of wonderful people, who all supported him and helped him grow to the man he became. He enjoyed nature and being outdoors, whether that was camping and riding 4 wheelers, or taking a ride in his truck or motorcycle. He grew up loving football, and made anyone that watched him play feel the pride for his determination, sportsmanship, and connection with being a part of a team. He was filled with happiness connecting with Kya, Raider, Echo, Oakley, and Prince and Domino. These pups got to feel his warmth, love, and share any food left on his face from his most recent meal. He enjoyed good music, good food and a great video game.

Davone left so early in his life, leaving behind a void that could never be filled. He will be missed, he will always be loved, and his impact on this world will be felt by any that had the honor of meeting him.

A celebration of life will be held:

I worked with Davone for years and recently heard of his passing. This is devastating to me and I can’t imagine how you must be feeling. Davone was truly a light to all the people around him. He always had a genuine smile on and took interest in the people around him. He had a way of making you feel special. So many people were just naturally drawn to him. He was so smart and so kind, he made everything fun and was always making me laugh. Davone will be missed very much from his big brown eyes to the smile that constantly lit up his whole face. It was truly a pleasure knowing him.

There are several of us that enjoyed working with Davone and we will miss him. I am heartbroken about Davone passing away so young. May he rest in peace.
