Charles Todd Kinard (Todd)

1976 – 2025
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Charles Todd Kinard—known to all simply as
Todd—a man whose brilliance, drive, and unwavering love left an indelible mark on everyone
fortunate enough to know him.
Todd had a mind that never rested and a spirit drawn to challenge. After earning his law degree,
he quickly realized that practicing law alone couldn’t contain his curiosity or ambition. Merging
his background in law and chemistry, he ventured into the business world—where he built and
led two companies, took one public, and sold the other for $62 million.
But Todd’s life was never defined by accolades or numbers. His true genius lay in how he saw
the world: imagining bold ideas, spotting connections others missed, and always reaching higher.
Beyond the boardroom, Todd was a man of deep loyalty and even deeper heart. He showed
up—always—for the people he loved. He carried the wisdom of his parents and the bond with
his siblings with him every step of his life.

In 2000, Todd married Dr. Krista Kinard, the love of his life and his unwavering partner.
Together they built a life full of laughter, shared strength, and quiet devotion.

Todd brought the same grit and discipline to every aspect of his life—whether training for an
Ironman or tackling a new challenge. But his greatest passion, and proudest accomplishment,
was being a father.

His son, Crew Edward Kinard, was the center of his universe. Todd poured his heart into
fatherhood, approaching it with joy, intention, and unconditional love. Crew was his greatest
love, his very best work, and his most cherished gift to the world.

Todd leaves behind a legacy of innovation, tenacity, and generosity—and a family who will
forever feel the ache of his absence, even as they carry his love forward. He is survived by his
wife, Krista; his son, Crew; his parents, [Names]; his siblings, [Names]; and a wide circle of
family, friends, and colleagues who will miss him dearly.
