Darlene “Dolly” Allen

“Dolly” DARLENE F. ALLEN, Passed away peacefully on January 7, 2024 in
Tooele City, Ut. She was born on May 22, 1930, in Missoula, Montana.
She is survived by her son Steven Allen and her daughter Jennifer Jones.
Dolly has 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. And many great
friends.
Dolly loved to work and stay busy. Even at 93 years of age she insisted on
participating in the hobbies she loved: playing bridge, gardening, collecting
antiques, sewing, and frequent trips to Wendover to gamble.
Dolly was very proud of her work career, which began in 1948 after
graduating high school and officially retiring in 1990. She began at the
Benicia Arsenal, a military reservation, where she worked in the financial
office. After meeting the love of her life, Jay Allen, they moved to Tooele,
Utah and began working at the Tooele Army Depot continuing their work
they started in Benicia. Dolly briefly retired in 1976 to travel the world but
missed working so she accepted a job as the Residence Manager for
Governor Bangerter. Of all the titles and jobs Dolly held over the years, her
position as the CEO of the Tooele Chamber of Commerce was her favorite.
The funeral service will be held at St. Marguerites Catholic Church, on
January 16, 2024. A visitation will start at 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.. The rosary
will be from 2:45 to 3:00 p.m.. Then a funeral mass will be held from 3:00
p.m. to 4:00 p.m..
“Our Doll,” will be remembered as a feisty, hard working, loving, and
passionate person. Her grace, intellect, and stubborn kindness will be
deeply missed by all who knew her.

    Dolly was a sweet friend! I’m sorry to hear of her passing. But I’m sure she’s in Heaven enjoying every minute with her Family and great friends!
