Obituary of Virginia S. Trujillo

In Loving Memory of Virginia Scott Trujillo
Virginia Scott Trujillo, age 91, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026 at her home in Stansbury Park, Utah.
She was born on September 1, 1934, in Vernal, Utah, where she was raised.
On November 7, 1951, Virginia married the love of her life, Cirilo “Jake” Trujillo and began a life centered around faith, family, and service. They made their home in Layton, Utah, where she and her beloved husband raised their family. After many years, they returned to Vernal for cherished years with family before she eventually relocated to Stansbury Park, Utah to be closer to her daughter and family. Together, they built a beautiful life and were blessed to celebrate 70 wonderful years of marriage, a testament to their deep love and devotion.
Virginia was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She faithfully served in many callings throughout her life, including Relief Society, Young Women, and Sunday School. Her most cherished calling was serving as a temple worker alongside her husband, a role that brought her immense joy and spiritual fulfillment.
Virginia loved the outdoors and the memories made along the way, camping, fishing, mountain drives, and road trips filled her heart. Flaming Gorge held a special place in her life, especially alongside her husband and extended family. She shared her gifts of crocheting and knitting with those she loved, and above all, she cherished family, always making time together feel meaningful and fun. She kept her mind sharp by spending hours a day reading books, completing saduku and crossword puzzles.
She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her loving heart, and her deep devotion to her family and friends. She had a quiet strength, a kind spirit, and a way of making everyone around her feel loved and cared for.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Kennedy Scott, mother, Thelma Gurr Scott, husband, Cirilo “Jake” Trujillo; her son, Steve Trujillo; granddaughter, Stephanie Trujillo; grandson, Steven Trujillo; and her siblings, Boyd Scott, Shirley Timothy, Leatrice Hamblin, Gary Scott, Georgia Sanchez and Connie Haworth.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Woodard (Mike) Stansbury Park, UT; her son, Mark Trujillo (Stephanie) St George, UT; and her daughter-in-law, ReNae Trujillo, Bedford, WY. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Alisha Trujillo, Britange Miller (Jake), Camron Sudbury, Kayla Sudbury (Skyler), Dallin Woodard, McKell Woodard, Kaden Trujillo, Bailey Trujillo, Enzo Trujillo, and Talia Trujillo, along with many cherished great-grandchildren.
Virginia’s legacy of love, faith, and family will live on in all who knew her. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort knowing she is reunited with the love of her life, and that her love will continue to guide us until we meet again.
Funeral services will be held April 18th at the Davis Ward Chapel, 1500 E 4000 S, Vernal, Utah. Viewing 10:30 am – 11:30 am, Funeral Services 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm, Internment Vernal Memorial Park. Luncheon will be held at the Davis Ward Chapel after Internment.

  1. I am so grateful to have associated with Virginia and to have served as a counselor in the Relief Society presidency with her. She was a woman of great love, compassion, and understanding, and was always jovial and fun to be with. She was a woman of strong faith in God and she had a great deal of influence for good amongst those in the community and church. We love her and her family and hope to be associates in eternity. Our condolences and love to her family and close friends. Thank you all for your service.
