Lawrence (Dick) Howard Craig
Dick was born on April 21, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He passed away on May 5, 2026 at the age of 79 in his home in Las Vegas, Nevada from pancreatic cancer. Dick served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed at the Nevada Test Site where he met and married the love of his life Sherril Breese. They married in 1969 and made Las Vegas their home. Dick later owned his own service station (Dick Craig Chevron) as well as his own towing business (Dick Craig Towing). He was a life-long avid ham radio operator- WV7C. He loved his ham radio friends and associates and working the Nevada Silver State Classic Challenge Race. Dick was also very well known in Las Vegas for over 60 years. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Dick is survived by his children Toshiana Pierson (Dean), Sean Craig, Tara Garrett (Jon), Lawrence Craig (Magan) and Danielle Craig. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife Sherril, parents Leslie and Arleen Craig, sister Wilma and brother Ron. Surviving siblings: Ray (Kathy), Carla Ball, Sandy Ralston, Bruce, Delwin (Teresa) and Darwin.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 am Friday, May 15, 2026 at the Pleasant Green Cemetery located at 9200 West 3500 South, Magna, Utah. A lunch and social gathering will follow the services at the Magna City Community Center located at 3121 S. Broadway St. in Magna. Our family is grateful for the love and support of those who have served our Dad and our family! We are also grateful for the wonderful care and logistical support provided by Hoopes-Dalton Funeral Home!
