Robert L. “Bill” Byrd, age 85 passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2025, at his home in Tooele surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on June 12, 1940, in Douglas, Arizona to Emma Coleen Bond and Claude E. Byrd.

Bill married Nancy Fisher on March 26, 1976, in Grantsville, Utah and later sealed for Time and Eternity in the Jordan River Temple. He served in the US Army at Dugway Proving Grounds. He retired from Tooele Army Depot after 34 years of service. He coached his daughter’s softball teams with his wife and his son’s baseball team. He was an active member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a High Priest in the Westland Ward. Served as a High Priest Group Leader, Elders Quorum Counselor, Stake Mission Presidency Counselor, Stake and Family History Consultant. He enjoyed doing Temple Work and Genealogy with his wife.

He is survived by his loving wife Nancy, son: Travis (Sandy), daughters: Sydnee (Lance) Bess, Roberta Byrd, Jennifer (Gene) Hoopes, Jodi (Doug) Steinfeldt, Wendy Byrd Pay. 15 Grandchildren and numerous Great-Grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, daughters; Ashley Marie and Jamie; Grandson; Jordan M Byrd, Brother; Glynn and Sister; Vivian Bartlett.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 12 Noon, at the Westland Ward, 1030 So. 900 W., Tooele, Utah. A visitation will be held from 10:30-11:30 AM prior to services. Burial will follow in Tooele City Cemetery with Military Honors.
