Obituary of Pamela “Kim” Duke

Pamela “Kim” Duke passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving children on December 31, 2025, following a short acute illness, at the age of 71. She was a beloved resident of the Heber Valley, where she touched countless lives with her magnetic personality, generosity, and unwavering faith.

Born in Heber City, Utah, Kim grew up in California before returning to her roots in the beautiful Heber Valley. She married her devoted husband, Ralph Duke, for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. Together, they built a life centered on family, faith, and service. Kim had a deep commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ. She loved and lived the restored gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully in many callings where she inspired and mentored the young women with her warmth and testimony. She and her husband Ralph faithfully served two missions in Africa; one in Johannesburg, South Africa, and one in Uganda/Ethiopia, during which she tragically lost her eternal companion in a car accident.

Kim cherished her family above all else. She adored her children and grandchildren, finding endless joy in their lives and accomplishments—including the arrival of her brand-new great-grandchild, Ruby, born just two days prior to her passing. She loved reading, traveling, and bringing light and laughter to those around her. Her generous spirit and magnetic personality drew people to her, making everyone feel loved and valued.

Kim’s radiant spirit, profound faith, and boundless love for her family and the gospel will be deeply missed but eternally remembered. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, service, and joy that will continue to bless all who knew her. We are confident that her long-awaited reunion with her eternal companion was a wonderful and joyous occasion.

She is survived by her children: RL Duke (Melissa), Michael Duke (Keri), Spencer Duke (Karissa), and Katie Nelson (Mitch); her grandchildren: McKenna Baker (Jared), Jessica Tooley (Max), Cade Duke (serving a mission in New Jersey), Sierra Cohen (DJ), Savannah, Sydni, Maddie, Cole (stationed at Whidbey Island, Washington, United States Navy), Bridger, Brynlyn (serving a mission in Concepcion South, Chile), Lukas (serving a mission in Cape Town, South Africa), Walker, and Paige; her great-grandchild Ruby; her mother, Liesa Cox (Gene) and her siblings: Susan Davis (Stacy), Kay Emerson (Richard), Marity (Kevin), John Henry (Holly), and Gina Talbot (Rod), and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who were like family to her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Duke; her sister, Sheila, and father Gene Cox.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints Chapel, located at 325 E. 500 N. Heber City, Utah. Viewing for family and friends will be held prior to the funeral from 9:00-11:30am on Saturday.

Interment will take place at the Heber City Cemetery under the care of Dalton-Hoopes Funeral Home & Cremation Center.

  1. Although we were not acquainted with Kim until later in her life, we had the privilege of serving with her in the “Daily Dose” program in the Utah Provo Mission. Her Michael has served us in many ways since our return to the Heber Valley. We feel like he’s our son, too. What a fine woman and a terrific family!
We extend to her family our condolences and love.
