Leisa Van Orden, age 63, passed away on June 20, 2026 in Tooele, Utah from complications of Type 2 diabetes.
She was born March 27, 1963 in Ogden, Utah to Rulon Grant Van Orden and Barbara Brown Van Orden, both now deceased. She was raised in Teton Valley, Idaho. She travelled all throughout the western United States throughout her life moving between Salt Lake City, Utah; Phoenix, Arizona; Heber-Overgaard, Arizona; Portland,Oregon; and finally Tooele County, Utah.
She met the love of her life in 2008 – her Chihuahua Simba. Simba kept her warm when it was cold, made sure she woke up every morning, and protected her from every outside threat with 900 barks. He passed in 2024, and Leisa missed him dearly. Her favorite activities with Simba were doing jigsaw puzzles, collecting, coloring, driving, listening to music, drinking Pepsi and eating pizza.
She is survived by her daughter Becky and son Keilan; sons-in-law James and Edgar; grandchildren Taylor, Rylei, and Harrison; siblings Nancy, Kelly, Lynn, Mike, and Cheryl; and best friend Brue.
Per Leisa’s wishes, no services will be held. We invite the world to cherish her memory in the ways you know she would appreciate. Remember her humor, her joy, and her unwillingness to live by everyone else’s rules.
