Obituary of Jarett Blake Jensen

Jarett Blake Jensen, a beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away on September 21, 2025, at the age of 21 in Grantsville, Utah. Born on April 23, 2004, in Moses Lake, Washington, Jarett’s early childhood was filled with adventure in the countryside, where he participated in scouting, played flag football, raced four-wheelers, and lovingly contributed to his family’s hay hauling business. Some of his most cherished moments were spent alongside his papa, Gary, creating lasting memories that shaped his character.

After moving to Grantsville in 1st grade, Jarett continued to pursue his passion for sports, playing baseball and basketball in youth programs, but it was football with the Grantsville Cowboys that ignited his true enthusiasm for the game. He found joy in attending BYU football games and Utah Jazz basketball games with his Grammy and Paki, relishing every moment spent with friends and family of all ages.

Jarett had an unwavering love for sports, particularly the Oregon Ducks. His fascination with cars began at a young age, fueled by his obsession with the movie “Cars.” This passion blossomed into a lifelong enthusiasm for automobiles—few knew cars or the roar of an engine like Jarett did. His love for music shone brightly; he was often heard singing in the shower, his voice a source of joy to those around him. With a contagious laugh and infectious smile, Jarett had a remarkable ability to lighten any room with his humor and warmth.

A proud graduate of Grantsville High School in 2022, Jarett pursued a career in composite manufacturing until his untimely passing. He is survived by his loving parents, Bart and Janna Jensen, and Bridgette and Darrell Gustin; his siblings, Jaxxon, Jace, Bentley Jensen, and Brody and HayLee Gustin; grandfathers Bruce and Janis Jensen and Terry Baird; grandparents Doug and Terry Wright and James and Linda Mooney; Jarett’s girlfriend, Saige Olson; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends including his long time partners in crime: Gage and Oakley Anderson.

Jarett is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Tina Jensen and Jan Baird, and grandparents Gary and Yvonne Gustin.

Jaretts favorite quote, “Live life a quarter mile at a time,” from Fast and the Furious, perfectly encapsulated his approach to life. He embraced every moment with passion and joy, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 1 PM in the Grantsville Stake Center, 550 E Durfee, Grantsville, Utah. A viewing will be held from 11-12:30 prior to services. Burial will follow in the Grantsville City Cemetery.

Jarrett. My heart goes out to you and your family. I pray that God provides you with comfort and strength during this time.

  2. One thing that Jarrett and I shared is birthdays. (just a few decades apart) Almost without exception, Jarrett was the first each April 23rd to contact me to wish me a Happy birthday. I always enjoyed that. He was always so thoughtful and respectful. They are memories I will always cherish. Thank you Jarrett.
