Obituary of Edwin “Ed” Naranjo

Edwin Naranjo was born in Los Angeles, California on March 28, 1947, to Mother Rosa Steele Naranjo and Father Alvin Naranjo. He was married to the love of his life of 44 years to Phyllis Naranjo. Of this union they had 10 children: Michelle Naranjo, Patricia Naranjo, Bubba Pedro, Truman Pedro, Anthony Pedro, Vanessa Pedro-White, Alex Naranjo, Melissa Pedro, Marissa Roman Nose and Kevin Naranjo. He had 29 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosa Steele Naranjo and Alvin Naranjo; his only brother Dennis Naranjo; son, Alex Naranjo; daughter, Marissa Roman Nose; and granddaughter, Tyla Naranjo, and his great-grandson, Christopher Sanchez.

Ed joined the Army at a young age. After his discharge, he joined law enforcement with the Bureau of Indian Affairs as a Criminal Investigator. He served 28 years with the BIA. He enjoyed working in Indian Country. He and his family lived within several native American communities due to his dedication to law enforcement.

“Ed” as he preferred to be called, would sometimes say his name is “Your Hero” or “All Mighty”. He was a funny and adventurous man. A kid at heart who had no shame in some of the most embarrassing situations. He always made sure that his children and grandchildren went out and enjoyed new things and experienced new adventures. He loved to travel with his family, and they would take annual trips to places his children would never have had the opportunity to experience. His children and grandchildren appreciated all he has done for them.

The family wants to also mention his love for his extended family his niece Andrea Pintor, nephews, Chuck Naranjo, Winter Naranjo, Anthony Pinto, and numerous other nieces and nephews.

“Dad” will be deeply missed by his family.
