Chance Seth Barnard
**December 20, 1991 – September 2, 2026**
Chance Seth Barnard left us unexpectedly on September 2, 2026.
Born at Pioneer Valley Hospital on December 20, 1991, to Scott and Sandra Barnard, Chance was loved from the moment he came into this world by his five brothers and one sister.
As a child, Chance was mischievous and full of adventure. He loved camping, hunting, and fishing trips with his father and brothers. That love grew into a lifelong passion for traveling to Utah’s lakes and mountains with family and friends.
Chance was a Master Carpenter by trade. Day to day, he managed complex projects and led work crews. Chance also had a talent for cooking. He would host cookouts and celebrations for his loved ones, providing us with some of the most delicious food we have ever tasted.
The most important things in Chance’s life were his family and friends. He became engaged to his fiancée, Janae, in October 2022. Chance loved to help his family and friends in any way he could — whether it was helping out with food, repairs, or just being someone to talk to, you could count on him.
Chance is survived by his brothers, Scottie Barnard, Chris Barnard, Justin Barnard, and Gerod Nielsen; his sister, Jenny Gillman; his sisters-in-law, Stephanie, Tiffany, Anna and Keiko Barnard; his aunts, Debbra Hartmann, Dawn Barnard, and Sherrie Groth; his uncles, Skip Shadoan, Bob Groth and Gordon Hartmann; his nieces, Paige, Riley, Ayva,Wynter and Alicia; his nephews, Jade, Brady, Bailey, and Owen; and many cousins. He is also survived by his fiancée, Janae Semadeni, and her children, Greyson, Lukous, and Oakley Bradshaw, whom he loved as his own.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Scott and Sandra Barnard; his brother, Matthew Barnard; his grandparents, Jack and Dorothy Barnard and Douglas and Doris Shadoan; his uncles, John Barnard and John Shadoan; his aunt, Linda Shadoan; his brother-in-law, Steven Carroll; and his nephew, Mason Carroll.
A celebration of life will be held on September 25th at 1 P.M. at Jensen Nature Park, 3176 S Bluff Rd, Syracuse, UT 84075.
Chance was loved by so many. Our lives will never be the same without him.
