Our wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, Kimberly (Kim) Michelle Howard, 57, of Tooele, Utah, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on November 23, 1968, in Wilmington, North Carolina, the first child of John (Jack) Wallace and Sarah Lee Flowers Howard. Kimberly lived a life marked by love, friendship, humor, a fierce spirit, and quiet strength.
Kim fought her battle with cancer with remarkable courage, grace, and the same fierce spirit she brought to everything in life. She faced each challenge with determination and an unwavering love for her family. Even as the disease progressed, she remained a fighter, finding moments of laughter, strength, and connection with those she held dear. Her resilience inspired everyone around her, and her legacy of love, humor, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Kim spent the first ten years of her life in North Carolina before moving with her family to Stansbury Park, Utah, which remained her home for most of her life but also temporarily lived in Orlando, Florida; Nashville, Tennessee; and Mesa, Arizona. She graduated from Tooele High School in 1987.
Kim had a lifelong love of sports. She was an enthusiastic fan of BYU Athletics, the North Carolina Tarheels, Atlanta Braves, Utah Jazz, and New Orleans Saints. She rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on the people she loved. Kim was a devoted aunt who formed special bonds with each of her nieces and nephews through their sports, music, and other activities. Whether attending games, recitals, performances, or competitions, she was one of their biggest supporters. She delighted in serving them through thoughtful gifts and acts of kindness, carrying on the example of generosity and love she learned from her mother and father.
Kim worked for more than 20 years with JetBlue Airways, where she built lasting friendships and took great pride in helping others. One of the greatest blessings of her career was the opportunity to travel. Every summer she looked forward to returning to the beaches of North Carolina to spend treasured time with her immediate family and the Flowers cousins, making cherished memories together.
Kim was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served a mission while splitting her time in both the Uruguay Montevideo Mission and the California Bakersfield Mission, where she developed a lifelong testimony of Jesus Christ and a deep love for serving others. Throughout her life, her faith remained a steady source of strength and guidance.
Kim will be remembered for her loyal heart, generous spirit, unwavering support of those she loved, and the joy she found in family, faith, sports, and simple traditions. Her influence will continue to be felt by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Kim is survived by her father Jack (Elane), her younger brothers: Johnny (Kristin), Ricky (Alex), Steven (Crystal), her sister Lisa Hughes (Jon), along with many beloved nieces/nephews: Hannah (Nick), Caroline, Grace (Zach), Josh, Benjamin, Brookelee, Jackston, Treygan, Allie, Holden, Porter, Sammie, Roper, and grandniece Georgia.
Kim was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Lee Howard.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 29th, 2026, at 12:00pm at the Canyon Creek Ward Chapel, 332 East 1000 North Tooele, Utah, 84074. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 28th from 6 to 8pm at the same church building. A visitation will also be held prior to the services at 11:00am on Wednesday at the church. Interment will be held with the family prior to the services on Wednesday at the Stansbury Cemetery.
