Obituary of Reid P. Te’o

Reid Pulega Te’o

Sunrise-July 10, 1979 – Sunset-May 11, 2026

Reid Pulega Te’o was born on July 10, 1979, at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance, California, to his proud parents, Loe and Aniva Te’o. He was the youngest of ten siblings and was deeply loved by his family throughout his life. He was named after his namesake, Patriarch George Reid, from Sunset, Utah, whose legacy of faith and family values left a lasting impression on those who knew of him.

Reid was blessed on Sunday, August 5th, 1979, by his Dad Loe Te’o, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and at the age of 8 years old, Reid made the decision to be baptized as member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Saturday, August 1st 1987 by his Brother in law Jerry Salazar and Confirmed by his Dad, Loe Te’o. From that young age, his love for the Gospel and his testimony of Jesus Christ became a guiding foundation throughout his life.

Reid attended Franklin D. Roosevelt Elementary School, Will Rogers Jr. High School, and Leuzinger High School in the Hawthorne/Lawndale area of California. During the winter semester of his junior year in 1996, he made the decision to move to Utah, where he later graduated from West High School in 1997. One of the highlights of his senior year was being named MVP in West High’s victory against Olympus High School.

From a young age, Reid demonstrated determination, leadership, and a strong sense of faith. As a Cub Scout, he earned the Arrow of Light, and by the age of 14 he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout with Troop 450 in Los Angeles County, California — an accomplishment he was very proud of.

In April 1998, Reid received his mission call for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to serve in the Auckland, New Zealand Samoan-speaking Mission. Choosing to serve the Lord became one of the proudest decisions of his life. He faithfully served from August 1998 until August 2000.

Following his mission, Reid explored many career paths. From working at Discover Card to becoming a sales representative and finance specialist for various dealerships throughout Ogden, Davis County, and Salt Lake County, he was known for his ambition, charisma, and entrepreneurial spirit. During this time Reid had also joined the LDA-Latter Day Ambassador Choir founder and director Tina Niumatalolo Purcell. Reid, found his joy of music and singing song of praise and testimony that strengthen him during a difficult time in his life.

Reid was always searching for ways to learn, build, and create opportunities to provide for his family. He was most proud accomplishment was co-founding Mana Pacific alongside his partner and friend, Dr. Martin Palmer. Reid poured his heart, vision, and entrepreneurial drive into building their business. He believed deeply in creating opportunities not only for himself and his family, but for others in the community as well. Through Mana Pacific, Reid demonstrated his passion for growth, innovation, leadership, and his desire to leave a meaningful impact on those around him.

Above all else, Reid loved his daughters, Yasmyne and Kymora, who were truly his pride and joy. Every decision he made was centered around what he felt was best for them. He taught his girls to love and serve the Lord, stay close to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, cherish family, work hard, remain sharp-minded, and make wise decisions by listening to the promptings of the Holy Ghost.

In the summer of 2020, Reid was introduced to the love of his life, Carmen, by a mutual friend — a blessing they would always be grateful for. After dating for about a year, Reid proposed to Carmen on September 10, 2021. They were married and sealed for time and all eternity on November 20, 2021, in the Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple in South Jordan, Utah.

To make their union even more special, Reid’s daughters, Yasmyne and Kymora, lovingly embraced Carmen and with opening arms they were sealed together as an eternal family on that same sacred day.

Throughout his life and marriage, Reid faithfully served in various callings within the church. One of the callings that humbled him the most was serving as an ordinance worker in the Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple. He also faithfully served in his Elders Quorum Presidency and found great joy in ministering and serving others. Due to his illness, Reid was later released from his church callings, something that brought him great sadness, as serving the Lord and the members of his ward meant so much to him.

Reid returned peacefully to our Heavenly Home on May 11, 2026. He will be remembered for his love of family, his close friendships, his brotherhood, his strong testimony of the Gospel, his big beautiful smile, his humor, laughter, his determination, generosity, and the way he made lasting impressions on everyone who knew him. His legacy lives on through his family, his faith, and the many lives he touched.

He is preceded in death by his parents Loe & Aniva Te’o, sister Nora & Bro-in-law William Purcell Sr. , his brother Bishop Francis & sister-in-law Toea’e Te’o, niece Emeline Te’o and nephew David Te’o, his Grandparents Ieti & Lolini Te’o, Grandparents Faofua & Tagisia Peniata, Uncles, Aunties and cousins.

He is survived by his wife Luz Del Carmen and their two daughters Yasmyne and Kymora, his 5 older Sisters, his eldest Brother, his In-laws, brothers and sisters in-laws, of course can’t forget his 14 nieces, 15 nephews, 18 grandnieces, 18 grandnephews. He loved you all as his own. Along with many other family members.

Our family would like to truly thank the many Doctors, Nurses and Staff at IMC Cancer Center. Especially Nurse Anita who was there since day one. We also like to thank Alissa, Kenna, Sarina and other staff from Hospice of Utah, for helping our family make this transition smooth.

Reid will be deeply missed and forever loved.
