Carol Denise Shepherd

Our beloved daughter, wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend Carol Denise Shepherd

returned to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on November 29, 2024, after a

valiant three-and-a-half-year battle against Angiosarcoma.

Denise was born on May 3, 1955 in Tooele, Utah to Elaine W. and Myris V. Orr.

She was a life long resident of Grantsville, Utah. She graduated from

Grantsville High School in 1973, then attended Brigham Young University and

graduated with an associates degree from LDS Business College. After graduating,

she modeled for ZCMI and worked for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Denise retired in 2014 from the Department of Corrections after 33 years of service.

In June of 1979 she married the lover of her life, Noel I. Shepherd in the

Salt Lake Temple. Together they had one daughter, Nicole. Denise was an

active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in many

callings including Young Women’s, Primary, and Relief Society. The time spent

serving her family was one of her greatest joys and accomplishments of her life.

She loved spending time in the outdoors with her family. Some of her favorite places

were the Uintah Mountains, Yellowstone, and Tetons. She was an avid animal lover

but had a special place in her heart for her dogs.

The family would like to send a special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and

staff at the Utah Cancer Specialist START Program for their care of Denise

during her illness. The family would also like to thank the Grantsville 3rd Ward members

and the many friends that have supported Denise and her family. We are grateful to the

services and compassion provided by Dalton-Hoopes Funeral Home..
