Sylvia Whittaker

July 27, 1948 ~ February 5, 2020

Sylvia Kealoha Whittaker, 71 passed away on February 5, 2020 at her home in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on the 27th of January 1948 in Hawaii to Fred Kealoha and Lelani Kealoha.
Sylvia was born to be a star. At a young age she left Hawaii for the mainland, and spent her childhood in El Monte, CA. Living so close to Hollywood put the fire in her to entertain. She began performing as a USO singer and never looked back. After getting
her degree, she realized that the business of movies was more entertaining than performing.

She spent most of her life as an Actor’s Manager, calling actors like James Coburn and Jonny LaMotta her clients. In the late 90s, Sylvia left LA and moved to Utah to take a step back from life after a softball sized brain tumor was removed from her frontal lobe. Much like leaving her home, she beat cancer and never looked back.

Nicknamed “The Tasmanian Devil” for her ferocity, her continuous charge forward in life was to be expected. When she finally settled in her living community, her life began to balance and she found true happiness.

Sylvia’s greatest gift was her art. Her understanding of the visual world was second to none. Someday her art will hang in galleries for the World to appreciate. She will be dearly missed and we will hold our memories of her very close to our hearts.
Aloha au ia ‘oe!!

Sylvia is survived by her son Vick Smith, her grandkids whom she loved so dearly Ralondra, Brayden, Tristan and Bryeson.

Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 1 PM at 660 S 300 E in Salt Lake City.
