Lorna McKellar Solberg Call

Lorna McKellar Solberg Call

Lorna McKellar Solberg Call, 93, our beautiful mother and grandmother peacefully passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025 in Scottsdale, Arizona. She was born in Tooele, Utah to John Frank McKellar and Nellie Ann Dayton McKellar on October 2, 1931. She married Arthur Solberg in May 1949. They had five children Greg, Dianna, Rod, Vicki and Byron. Art and Lorna divorced and she moved back to Tooele to raise her children. She married Ray Call in February 1976. Lorna graduated from Tooele High School in 1949 and was proud to say she was a life-long member of the “49ers Club”.

Lorna learned the value of hard work at a young age being raised on the McKellar ranch in Tooele. She loved her siblings Leonard, Edward, Frank, Glen, Dawna, Eldon, George, their spouses and their children and had many stories to share. Family reunions brought her great joy. She was like a kid in a candy store whenever she could get a reunion together.

It takes a village to raise five children and Tooele Seventh Ward was that village. We will be forever thankful for those wonderful families and blessing in our lives and hers.

Lorna was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved ministering and serving others. After she retired, she served missions in Chicago, Illinois and Washington,DC. She loved to travel and saw the world. Lorna looked forward to “The Girls Trips” visiting many cities throughout this country while creating lasting memories.

Lorna loved and lived the gospel of Jesus Christ to the fullest. She taught us by example and fervently prayed for every member of her family until her last breath. Her influence, kindness and compassion will forever be ingrained in the lives of all those she touched and she will be forever loved and missed.

She is survived by her children Gregory Solberg- (Kim – Beaver, UT) Dianna (Harold Chadwick- Grantsville, UT), Rodney Solberg (Pam – Webber Falls, OK), Vicki (Paul Zollinger – San Tan Valley, AZ), and Byron Solberg (Tressa -South Jordan, UT)and 17 very loved grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. Her family, extended family, and friends meant everything to her.

Special thanks to Dalton-Hoopes Funeral Home in Grantsville, UT for coordinating services on behalf of the family. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Timpanogos Park 5th Ward, 975 N 100 W, Orem, UT. Interment will be at East Lawn Memorial Park in Orem.

To a wonderful great-aunt and woman who will truly be missed. A woman who thought of others before thinking of herself! All my love, Jules
